Why Blog About Harry Potter Now?

Published September 8, 2013 by A. Featherquill

Six years have passed since the 7th book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, came out. Two years since the 8th movie was released.

A few may consider the Potter fever over, but the magic is still very much alive in the fans.

With Pottermore our personal journey into magic has moved on to another level. We’ve formally been sorted, we’ve been matched with our wands, we’ve been making potions and casting charms… even if it’s only online. Just last week, the community, in anticipation of the annual House Cup, celebrated the house pride week.

Recently, the Universal Orlando confirmed that they will create a Diagon Alley, with a Hogwarts Express train connecting it to the original Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park. (See reports of Inside the Magic, Orlando Informer, or LeakyNews.) While the place is still being constructed, the LeakyCon, an annual Harry Potter convention, has already set Orlando to be their venue on 2014.

Also, even before the formal launch of Diagon Alley, Universal Orlando will hold its first “Celebration of Harry Potter” on January 24-26, 2014. It will feature a wand masterclass, a film tribute, Q&A with select cast members and filmmakers, thrilling rides, and a visit to Hogwarts and Hogsmeade.

As for me, besides participating in Pottermore, the magic goes on because I’m pursuing literature which I discovered through Harry Potter.

I guess it’s only right to thank JK Rowling and the world she created by reliving its magic through this blog because…

In writing, I remember… and I’m inviting you to do the same.

Stay magical,
A. Featherquill

  • It’s never too late to blog about HP. 🙂 I’m so glad there are people out there who are still interested in discussing the content of these books!
